Impressions of the current exhibition at
in Hingene, Belgium from
Kasteel d’Ursel in Hingene, Belgium, is currently hosting an exhibition of portraits spanning the years 1626 to 2026. The impetus for this exhibition was the discovery of a stolen family portrait—the image of a nobleman in a mustard-yellow robe—by the insightful curator Koen. The painting has now returned to its rightful place in its former home.
Thanks to this fortunate discovery, two additional portraits—which had been cut from their frames by the thieves—also returned to Hingene. These two works, currently displayed lying in front of their picture frames, made a particular impression on me.
In the exhibition, contemporary art joins historical works—in a compilation full of love and humor. My two abstract Emotional Portraits by Ursula d’Ursel open the tour of a successful journey through surprisingly diverse visual worlds.
